What is Einstein Analytics and how can we use it?

Customers are generating more data than ever before.

Salesforce Einstein Analytics seeks to collect, analyse and transform and this critical business data to create meaningful insight. Consolidating CRM, ERP and other silos of data and unifying it into a single view – enabling our clients to have the sorts of conversations that will improve their understanding of their customer and their business drivers.

Ultimately, the Salesforce analytics cloud revolutionises the way our clients glean and refine new strategies for their business. It enables them to ask the right questions, find the answers they need and uncover new opportunities to connect with customers.

Einstein is a layer of artificial intelligence, inbuilt within the Salesforce Platform. Through Einstein Discovery it delivers both predictions and recommendations, derived from customer data and business processes. These insights can be used to automate responses, maximising efficiency and productivity. This leads to our clients constantly growing their understanding of their customer and in turn, how to meet their needs. It enables us to deliver the right content or product, within the right channel, to the right audience, at the right time. It’s genius!

Innovative ‘wave’ technology powers Salesforce Einstein Analytics. Built on the Salesforce platform, it’s cloud scale, secure and 100% trusted.

So, what does this mean?

Einstein analytics makes mobile-first, flexible business intelligence accessible at all levels of an organisation.

It provides three features which legacy analytics does not:

  1. Wonderfully aesthetic data visualisations: a beautiful, user-friendly interface catering to everyone and every device.
  2. Cloud speed and scale: integrated with Salesforce, it delivers fastest time to value.
  3. Instant exploration: with the removal of preselected and rigid schemas, data can be accessed instantly

With an ecosystem of pre-integrated data sources and additional customisation through the developer community on the app exchange – telling big stories about our big data has never been more manageable.

Why did we choose them over other competitors?

Analytics tools vary quite dramatically. Einstein is empowering, intuitive, built for mobile and designed to provide critical answers, at consumer speed.

It enables data exploration in ways impossible with legacy analytics, allowing for decisions driven by insight, rather than merely instinct. The pervasiveness of Salesforce as a CRM also makes Einstein a compelling option.

Some further reasons are stated below:

Newly developed discovery tools may offer superior charting capabilities than traditional BI, but will fall short in terms of search speed, the necessity of schemas, and in the tendency to discriminate against new data types. Also, they’re not mobile and instead, often on-site.

Einstein is like a search engine, allowing instant exploration in any direction – rather than time-consuming spreadsheet analysis and manual revision. Mobile access to data is a massive business and productivity accelerator.

Wave also enables us to take control of our data. With other solutions, often data analysts store data locally – removing governance from company hands. Wave ensures that critical data stays within the company’s system and for guaranteed security.

Finally, it’s easy to use. Many analytics solutions require expertise and are challenging to navigate. These systems make timely insights harder to deliver. Salesforce Einstein Analytics is different, ticket logging is no longer needed for simple answers, and employees can glean insights, on their own. With ongoing and fun learning tools such as Trailhead, Wave Analytics is designed with ease of use for everyone.

What are the questions that Einstein can help answer?

We’ve found that consistently the questions that businesses are looking to answer, can be typically categorised into one of four categories;

  1. Organisational Strategy
  2. Marketing Return
  3. Sales Effectiveness, or
  4. Client Service

Through dashboards tailored to address each of these core business areas we can help our clients consistently address these questions.

A typical example of the types of questions a Marketing team may seek to answer is:

‘Which sales channels are performing best in each country?’
‘What about by product? Or across each sales representative?’
‘How is our marketing pipeline trending over time?’
‘How are repeat purchases are related to customer satisfaction?’

Ultimately, through the aggregation of data through Salesforce Analytics cloud, and the embedded artificial intelligence of Einstein Analytics we can achieve tailored dashboards that support organisations answer critical business questions and enable their teams to make better data-led decisions.
